Landesa’s work to help bring legal land rights to rural poor strengthened by 2012 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship

NOVEMBER 29, 2011 — Landesa is one of four organizations who has received a 2012 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. The award is given to social entrepreneurs and their organizations who not only have an innovative model for solving some of the world’s biggest social challenges, but who are, as the Skoll Foundation puts it, at an inflection point of impact potential.

Landesa joins a community of established Skoll social entrepreneurs — including Kiva, Partners in Health, Room to Read, and Water.org — who are making a significant impact in the world. Landesa is honored to be in this distinguished company and thankful for the opportunity this award presents to help more people understand how secure land rights can transform rural communities on a grand scale.
