About Chris Grumm

Chris Grumm is a writer and recently co-authored the book The Uprising of Women in Philanthropy, published by Routledge in London and New York. The book tells the never-before-told story of the Global Women’s Funding Movement – considered the women’s movement’s greatest secret – and how it enabled women from all walks of life to harness the power of money to free themselves from oppression.

Prior to writing this book, Chris Grumm has spent her career working with organizations in local, national and international settings to build justice and social change agendas. She works with leaders to bring solutions to scale and create sustained social change in communities in the US and around the world. Since 2011, she has been consulting through her company, Chris Grumm Consulting Group (CGCG). Prior to starting her own firm, Chris Grumm was the CEO/President of the Women’s Funding Network (WFN) for over a decade, the Executive Director of the Chicago Foundation for Women and the Deputy General Secretary of the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva, Switzerland. She is a trained community organizer, the principles of which she applies to her consulting and board work.
