This past year at Landesa was one of reflection and resolve. We honored the life of our visionary founder, Roy Prosterman, whose belief in pro-poor, democratic land reform reshaped global development and strengthened land rights for more than 700 million people across 66 countries.

Roy saw people experiencing poverty not as beneficiaries, but as clients deserving the full protection of the law. His conviction that secure land rights are foundational to dignity, opportunity, and resilience continues to guide our work.

In that spirit, Landesa launched a new Law and Policy Practice Group, bringing together experts from across our programs to advance durable legal and policy solutions that protect the land rights of rural communities.

This Annual Report highlights the progress we are making alongside partners around the world to build a more secure future for rural women and men. The stories that follow reflect both the depth of Roy’s legacy and our ongoing commitment to turning rights on paper into rights in practice.
