Staff Spotlight: Alyssa Perez

Alyssa Perez is Landesa’s Program Coordinator with the Program Effectiveness team based in Seattle, Washington. Alyssa started working for Landesa in 2024.

What brought you to Landesa?

After completing my masters in sustainable food policy, I was looking for a role where I could leverage my program management experience at an impactful international organization. Landesa’s mission deeply resonated with my passion for sustainability and equity, making it a perfect fit.

What are your core responsibilities in your role?

As part of the Program Effectiveness team, I support initiatives that strengthen processes across Landesa. One of my main responsibilities includes working with Landesa’s global and country teams to develop budget proposals. I also provide coordination support for the Law and Policy Practice Group.

What is the most rewarding part of your work at Landesa?

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is hearing that a proposal I supported has secured funding. Knowing that my efforts contribute to advancing Landesa’s mission is very fulfilling.

How do you spend your time when you’re not working?

Outside of work, I love to cook and try new recipes that receive my wife’s seal of approval. You’ll also find me enjoying my favorite artists at live music performances. For some downtime, I practice yoga or catch up on the latest reality television show.

Describe your vision for a better world.

I envision a world where everyone has access to fresh, healthy food that supports both people and the planet.
