This report analyzes the results of a 17-province, 1,700 household sample survey, carried out in cooperation with Renmin University in 1999, which examines the current status of implementation of farmers’ 30-year land use rights, as provided in the 1998 Land Management Law. The report also contains recommendations for further strengthening farmers’ tenure security, and extending implementation of the 1998 law. | download PDF
