Secure, legally recognized rights to land are critical for empowering rural families. A Landesa pilot in Telangana, India, is updating old and incomplete land records, addressing land problems, and providing villagers with new land titles.
The pilot, in partnership with the state government of Telangana and NALSAR University, has reached 158 families in three villages in the project area, and has the potential to reach 1 million families if scaled across more than 10,000 villages in the state.
