In the Indian Sundurbans, women are taking collective action to restore mangrove forests and embracing sustainable alternative livelihoods.

The Telegraph India — An op-ed highlights how women make up a major share of India’s agricultural workforce while remaining largely excluded from land ownership and the rights tied to it. It cites a 2021 Landesa study showing that only 13% of women in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha hold legal land documents, despite making up a major share of the agricultural workforce.
