Landesa to Begin Work in Eighth State in India

Plotlines-IND-mapLandesa will assist the state government of Jharkhand in counting and helping landless women and men in the state. The work will include homestead development, women’s land rights, and land literacy. At least one quarter of the population of Jharkhand is from a tribal community, often farming the land for generations without any legal rights. The state is rich in natural resources and the site of intense conflict over land.
