RIPL Launches Project Work in Ghana, Tanzania

Landesa’s Responsible Investment in Property and Land (RIPL) Project announced its official launch in Ghana last month and will host an official launch in Tanzania later this month. With local partners Community, Land, & Development Foundation (COLANDEF) in Ghana and Tanzania Natural Resources Forum (TNRF) in Tanzania, the RIPL team will develop country-specific practical guides tailored for use by governments, investors, and communities. These guides will outline internationally recognized standards and principles to improve land governance and investment practices and ensure that communities share equitably in the benefits of land-based investments.

Based on the country-specific guidance developed in the first project phase in Ghana and Tanzania, the team plans to develop “Model Playbooks” that will be adaptable to different country contexts and field tested in an ongoing investment.
