Gilbert Asiimwe Research Associate, Associates Research Trust Uganda

Gilbert Asiimwe is a researcher at Associates Research Uganda (ARU), where he conducts numerous research projects addressing land, property rights, women’s land rights, and livelihoods. In 2011, he worked on a project in Northern Uganda with International Alert called Monitoring Peace and Conflict Impacts of the Peace Recovery and Development Plan.In 2012, Mr. Asiimwe led data collection for the Gender, Land and Assets Survey with the International Centre of Research on Women and in 2013, participated in data analysis for Securing Women’s Land Rights in Northern Uganda. Most recently he helped design a survey methodology for a project examining private-public partnerships in agricultural value chains.
Mr. Asiimwe holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Ndejje University and a postgraduate diploma in land management and informal settlements regularization from Erasmus University, Rotterdam. Currently, Gilbert is pursuing a diploma in governance and development at the MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation in Arusha, Tanzania.
